And more so for people to enjoy every day life the safest way. Not forgetting that in whatever thing we do as far as life is concerned we should not forget our creator. Always put God first u will see success in whatever thing u do. But further more I have loved people all over the world to really get to know what success is and how really to succeed.

We often hear about the problems young people with disabilities face—physical obstacles, social rejection, academic failure, and medical crises. Yet some people do overcome significant challenges and lead successful lives. What does success mean to them and how do they achieve it? What internal characteristics do these individuals possess and what external factors have been present in their lives? What advice do they have to help young people build personal strengths to overcome the challenges they no doubt will face?

. But, what is self-determination?

Self-determination is a combination of skills, knowledge, and beliefs that enable a person to engage in goal-directed, self-regulated, autonomous behaviour. An understanding of one’s strengths and limitations together with a belief in oneself as capable and effective are essential to self-determination. When acting on the basis of these skills and attitudes, individuals have greater ability to take control of their lives and assume the role of successful adults.

Gaining control over your life involves learning and then successfully applying a number of self-determination skills, such as goal-setting, understanding your abilities and disabilities, problem-solving, and self-advocacy. The personal process of learning, using, and self-evaluating these skills in a variety of settings is at the heart of self-determination.

 Below are some of the Basics of success from Timo.

1.Define success for yourself

People define success in many ways. Several successful people with disabilities use these words:

• Success is defined by who we are, what we believe in, and what we think it means to be successful. For some it is money; for others it could be relationships, family, jobs, religion, or education. I believe that success is reaching my own personal dreams. I’m not done with my dreams, but know that I have been successful so far because I’ve worked toward my goals.
• Success is possessing the capability for self-determination. Self determination is the ability to decide what I want to do with my life, and then to act on that decision.
• A successful life is one where I can be actively engaged in creative activities that make a contribution to the lives of others. Success is a kind of by-product and NOT an end in itself.
• To me, having a successful life is being able to do things independently for myself, and not always have someone there to do things for me. It’s achieving my goals on my own terms and at my own pace.

2. Set personal, academic, and career goals. Keep your expectations high.

Below, successful young people and adults share their views about how they set goals and maintain high expectations:

• My grand mum  helped me maintain high expectations for myself. They taught me never to say “I can’t” at anything I try.
• I am still in the process of learning to stretch but I start by identifying what I can already do, what I am comfortable of  doing and feel good about. Then I say to myself (sometimes in writing) I can do more. I can do better, what is it BEYOND what I already can do that I want to be able to do? Then I write down goals or ideas and make efforts to stretch myself.
•  
•  By now, I do realize that everyone has a path in life that their unique set of talents and lack therefore f gives them. .Always believe in what you can do and go out for it.
•  
• I set personal, academic, and career goals by knowing where my limits are and working around them. If someone says I can’t do something, and I haven’t tried it before, that just makes me more determined to prove that someone wrong. If I fail, at least I tried. That’s what counts.
•  
• One of the main reasons people do not set high expectations is fear of failure….; Start by having achievable goals that are not long-term. Develop week long, achievable goals that lead to success. Build on each success and make each goal a little higher.

3. Understand your abilities and disabilities. And   Play to your strengths.

People with disabilities who consider themselves successful generally accept their disabilities as one aspect of who they are, do not define themselves by their disabilities, recognize that they are not responsible for their disabilities, and know that they are not inherently impaired. They recognize their responsibility for their own happiness and future.

4. Develop strategies to meet your goals.

Successful people use creative strategies to reach their goals. They look at options and make informed decisions. Successful planning requires that you know your rights and responsibilities and strengths and challenges; set goals; work toward those goals; and use tools and resources available to you. One key skill for success is self-advocacy. Being able to self-advocate requires that a young person become an expert on their disability, know what specific services and help they need, and be able to use strategies to obtain this help and support. One’s life should not be defined by the assumptions of others. Insights by successful people with disabilities are shared below.

• There is a difference between being the recipient of an act (victimized) and allowing yourself to become overly affected by that act—i.e., to become a victim.
• We don’t have to be victims of other people’s assumptions. We are only victims if we choose not to take charge of a situation. If you are blind and someone grabs your arm and pushes you across the street and you don’t say anything, but would like to, then you are letting the other person force the result of his assumptions on you. If you, on the other hand, either say, “thank you, but I’ll be fine” or “let me take your arm,” depending on what you would like to do, then you are taking charge and aren’t a victim.

5. Use technology as an empowering tool.

Being technologically competent has become an avenue to academic and career success. Computer technology is one of the most powerful tools available .  Technology, including computers, adaptive technology, and the Internet, can help maximize independence, productivity and participation. It can lead to high levels of success—personally, socially, academically, and professionally. As reported by successful individuals with disabilities:

6. Work hard. Persevere. Be flexible at any given time no matter what condition it could be.

Knowing and valuing yourself, setting goals, and planning help build important foundations, but action is required to make your dreams come true. To take control of your life it is necessary to choose and take appropriate action. Take charge. Move forward. Sometime people  with disabilities need to work harder to achieve the same level of success as their others .

But, learning to work hard has a positive side:

Sometimes I think even people  with disabilities have an advantage over those who have things come easier to them. Whatever it is they want, They  have to want it and then work for it. That necessary desire promotes drive to accomplish, succeed, or achieve. Others around us may be content to float, or do the minimum most of the time, but not us. For us, having what everybody else has is an accomplishment, and having tasted success we want to keep succeeding.

The willingness to take risks is critical to achieving success.

I keep going when people tell me I can’t. I am not afraid to try things and I don’t give up. My parents took me everywhere and I did everything like a normal kid. I have a good friend from kindergarten who is able bodied, and she knows me so well that we do all sorts of stuff that people might not think I could do, but we come up with a flexible plan and we do it.

• Nothing worthwhile comes without risk. Without risk, success cannot be achieved.
• Never give up.
• Do not pity yourself for what cards you have been dealt. It happened… now move on.
• That moment of insecurity is worth the achievement in the end. It is important to keep that in mind throughout life.
• Don’t  cry much about the losses u have made in life, just look forward.  I Timo I have undergone a lot of challenges and really a lot of losses. But I never mind I keep my head straight and never give up.

EVERY THING HAPPENS

FOR THE GOOD.   says Timo.

There was once a King who had a wise advisor. The advisor followed the King everywhere, and his favorite advice was, “Everything happens for the good”. One day the King went hunting and had a little accident. He shot an arrow at his own foot was injured. He asked the advisor what he thought about the accident, to which the advisor replied, “Everything happens for the good”. This time the King was really upset and ordered for his advisor to be put in prison. The King asked his advisor, “Now, what do you think?” The advisor again replied, “Everything happens for the good”. So the advisor remained in prison.

The King later went on a hunting trip, this time without the advisor. The King was then captured by some cannibals. He was taken to the cannibals’ camp where he was to be the evening meal for the cannibals. Before putting him into the cooking pot he was thoroughly inspected. The cannibals saw the wound on the King’s foot and decided to throw him back into the jungle. According to the cannibals’ tradition, they would not eat anything that was imperfect. As a result the King was spared. The King suddenly realized what his advisor said was true. The advisor also escaped death because had he not been in prison, he would have followed the King on the hunting trip, and would have ended up in the cooking pot.

Some other Principles of

1.  It is true that everything in life happens for a purpose, and always for our own good. If you think about it, all our past experiences actually happened to bring us to where we are today, and it is always for the good. All the past experiences makes us a better person. So, whatever challenges that we may face today, consider it happening to bring us to the next level.

  2.   More than 90% of the people that we face everyday are negative. They choose to look at the hole in the middle rather than the doughnut. Do not expect compliments or encouragement from them. These are the people who cannot pull you out of your present situation. They can only push you down. So be aware of them, spend less time with them, and do not let them steal your dreams away from you.

3. Take Full Responsibility for Your Life – In a society where people blame     everything from their parents to the government for failure, those who don’t buy into this   mentality or succumb to the “victim” thinking succeed. To blame something or somebody outside yourself is saying they have control of your life and not you. Someone else’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.

4. Live Your Life On Purpose - What separates motivational thinkers from the unsuccessful is that they believe they’re doing what they were put her to do. The difference between this and just living, is that the latter is just getting through the week with the least problems. But when you live your life on purpose, your main concern is doing the job right. For the entrepreneur this means finding a cause you believe in and building your business around it.

5. Be Willing to Pay the Price - Be willing to pay the price for your dreams. Wanting a big house, a luxury car, and a million dollars in the bank is all very nice, and everyone wants these things – but are you willing to pay the price to get them? This is one of the major differences between the successful and unsuccessful.

6. Stay Focused – Every day we’re bombarded with hundreds of tasks, phone calls, messages, and everyone competing for our time. Focusing requires giving up something in the present because you are investing your time in something that will pay off big-time down the road..

7. Become An Expert in Your Field One striking factor all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They strive to be the best at what they do, and do almost anything to improve. If someone followed you around all day with a video camera at your business, would it be a tape you’d be proud of or embarrassed about? Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field. How? By finding out what the “best” in your field are doing, and do what they do.

8. Write Out a Plan for Achieving Your Goals - Write out an action plan/map for how you’re going to achieve your goals. Trying to reach your goals without a plan is like trying to drive from KAMPALA to CAIRO without a map. A goal that isn’t written down is merely a wish or fantasy.  

9. Never Give Up - Never, never, never give up. When you’re fully committed to achieving your goal, giving up is not an option. You must be willing do whatever it takes to make it happen. The power of perseverance is an awesome force. As someone once said, “inch by inch it’s a cinch”.

10. Don’t Delay - Nobody knows how much time they have left to accomplish their dreams, and we must remember that we don’t have forever. The clock is ticking, and sooner or later your number comes up and you’re gone. Successful achievers know this too, but they don’t view it as a “negative”. Achievers use it to “spur them on”. They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as possible, for as long as they have.

HERE ARE 40 TIPS OF LIVING A BETTER  &

HEALTHY LIFE  BY TIMO.

1 .When you wake up in the morning, always start your day with a prayer/vision And be thank full for the previous night.

2. And then, complete the following statement, My purpose is to__________ today.

3. Take a 10 to 30-minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

 4. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

5. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

6. Drink plenty of water and fresh juices. Eat blueberries, salad, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds, etc.

7. Make at least three people smile each day.

8. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot  control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present.

9. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone, so give the best of your kindness.

11. Take yourself seriously.

12. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.

14. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Don’t compare your partner with others either.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you. So, be happy.

16. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

 17. Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; Responsibility for all your actions.

18. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

19. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: In five years, will it matter? Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.

Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. 20. Forgive everyone for everything. 21. Read more books and watch less TV than you did last year.

23. God has everything you’ll every need in life so hook up with Him.

24. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

25. In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation; don’t bring up the past.

26. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

27. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

28. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

29. Keep believing that the best is yet to come.

30. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.

31. Each day give something good to others.

32. Don’t over do. Keep your limits.

 33. Don’t trust someone who doesn’t close their eyes when you kiss them.

34. Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.

35. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a stroke of luck.

BELOW IS A STORY THAT WILL

 INSPIRE YOU.  

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn’t hear the band - he could see it. In his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed..

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

This  is what  we learn from this short story above………………….

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.

“Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.”

The origin of this letter is unknown, but it brings good luck to everyone who passes it on.

LOVE AND RELATIONSHIP.

How you can make ur love last for long.

1. Avoid negative thought patterns. Allowing yourself to mentally or verbally tear down your significant other is like gnawing at the bond that holds you together.

2. Remember that your true love means more to you than anyone else–including your parents and your kids. Those who put their children before their spouse are often disappointed to find that they have no relationship left once the kids head out on their own.

3. Be more flexible and forgiving with your spouse than anyone else. We expect our spouse to “understand” our stress or limitations (in other words, put up with our crap). Instead, reserve your patience and kindness for the person who means the most to you.

4. Understand that relationships work on a spiral. The more thoughtful you are to your loved one, the more fulfilled and happy your spouse will be. In return, your spouse will give back to you.

5. Don’t get too practical. Some couples forego the flowers, the cards, the dinner dates and the chocolate boxes in favor of saving money. But what’s worth more to you? A few bucks or a relationship that will likely affect your whole life and the lives of your children?

6. Do something nice for your spouse every day, even if it’s just a chore they typically do. These thoughtful touches will act as reserves against the tough times.

7. Be physical. Touch your spouse a lot, even when there is no hope of it escalating into a sexual encounter. These little reminders that a spouse cares are nurturing to the soul and sends wonderful signals to your children. They feel secure and happy because you are secure and happy, and they are more loving because of the example you’ve set.

8. Remain loyal and unselfish. Have the grit it takes to stick through thick and thin. And, start worrying more about whether you are being a good spouse than whether your spouse is being a good mate to you, and you’ll be glad you did. As much as it may seem otherwise, life isn’t all about you, how you’re feeling and what you want.

9. Take care of you. You don’t have to be model thin or in the blush of youth. But be the best you can be-mentally and physically.

Dear friends whoever reading this massage. [The international community] I would like to take this historic opportunity to arrest your attention. . Several years ago, having seen the situation with young and old people of Africa and around the globe, I cried. I cried that one day the God of no color will grant me the privilege of talking to these world minority educated and policy makers about the situation in Africa; I will examine few issues that are very important in African development, globalization as well as peace and stability for the rest of our world. But, before going any further,,, I would like to comment on the word peace. Peace is the greatest goal of humanity. A goal on whose meaning there is no agreement. Indeed, any talk of peace raises the problem of its opposite, war. Peace is said to be hard to define without reference to war, but war can be define without reference to peace.

The General Assembly of the United Nations two and a half decades ago adopted “Declaration on the right of the people to peace” (UN 1984). It is anyway beyond doubt that genuine peace must be based on the primacy of human being and therefore on truth, liberty, safety and justice. I do not simply view peace as the absence of war, but rather as a “dynamic process of cooperation between all states and peoples; cooperation founded on freedom, independence, national sovereignty, equality, respect for human rights, as well as a fair and equitable distribution of recourses to meet the needs of the people. Ladies and gentlemen, I strongly believed that this should be taking into consideration in every efforts of maintaining peace and stability in the continent of Africa in particular and the rest of the world in general. And, in these contentious times, there is no shortage of vital issues to examine here this morning, ranging from the role of government and the methods we use to address social and economic challenges — to global conflict and extreme poverty in Africa — from grave concerns about the Humanitarian organizations’ readiness to compete in an increasingly technological, international arena — to the often emotional issue of affirmative action. Today, we face a disturbing rate of crime, a tragic level of teen pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, poverty more persistent than we could have imagined for the world a few decades ago, a rising intolerance that threatens to polarize us as human society — and, meanwhile, the plight of African is painted in grim statistics almost daily on the evening news of Europe and North America.

Talking about impact of conflict in children of Sub Sahara-Africa, history has proved that the horrors of war fall most heavily on we the young. In the last three-decades Africa has witnessed many cross border and internal brutal conflicts, each of which has added to the sum of human miseries and destruction of properties.

The worse victims of these miseries are women and children. Over three hundred and fifty thousand children are been used as force combatants in either recently ended or on going armed conflicts including those in Angola, Burundi, Columbia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Rwanda, DRC, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone , Sudan and not forgetting Uganda my place of origin. There are little or no information known about the background and potentials of these children, because majority of them has no formal education before they recruited various fighting forces. Over six million children around the globe are deprived of the fundamental rights of the child as result of conflict. Surely, armed conflict, political inefficiency, corruption and physical mismanagement of natural and human resources are the reasons why over three hundred and fifty millions people, nearly half of the population of Africa are living below the line of poverty.

 As a young man originating from this deprived continent with limited opportunities for young people to actualize their potentials, I’m acutely aware that Humanitarian Organizations are often at the center of the debate, buffeted by controversy over issues ranging from the courses of events to radical indoctrination of political ideas. There is no dearth of challenging issues on our horizon. Indeed,

I am reminded of the old Chinese saying: “May we all live in interesting times.” Well, these are interesting times. Yet, when I consider this daunting array of issues in the context of the heritage and rich traditions of education, another Chinese saying, It is better to light a candle in the dark than to curse the darkness. African men, women, and children — an entire people denied for centuries the most fundamental elements of human dignity (education).

Education is a medium in which a group of people are prepare for the creation of their civilization and the development of their nation. Therefore, if the people are illiterates and ignorance that is the direct judgments passed on them by those who are critical about their future. Through the remainder of the 21 century, I hope this candle borne brightly, to prepare young African men and women to learn and then share their learning with others — to lead, serve, and sustain their people — to use education as a foundation stone to build a healthy community life for all Africans and the rest of human race. .

In some parts of the world already, “minority” is no longer a useful description of any group. Africa, frequently describes itself now as a combination of various minorities’ tribes throughout the continent. Although that continent may offer an extreme example, it is not unique. Many urban areas throughout our world are experiencing similar trends. I strongly believed that people of all race and nations should be educated about this issue, because this was one of the issues, which originated the apartheid struggle that brought about this event in South Africa. I strongly believe beyond all reasonable doubt that the color of a man is not the way he thinks. In a global context, the term “minority” is virtually irrelevant.

 Many anthropologists argue that there are one hundred or more racial groups. Clearly, racial distinctions, which have never enjoyed much biological validity, do not lend themselves readily to simple classifications such as black, white, red, yellow, or brown. In today’s world, who are the real minorities if I may ask ladies and gentlemen? Today, a black person, who is called a “minority” in St. Louis, can be in Kampala in a few hours and part of the “majority.”

A Chinese-American, who is considered a “minority” in Atlanta, can be in China within hours and a member of the world’s largest ethnic group. What kind of education is needed in a world where our careers, family structures, and intellectual and social development often require us to work and socialize with individuals from various cultures throughout our international community? Such questions, which are important to every institution of higher education, are of particular relevance to young African like me. Another challenge we face, as we adjust to the new realities of the 21st century, is moral and ethical education.

Within the international tapestry is a rich diversity of race, religion, culture, and language — a metropolis of neighborhoods with varied traditions and values. Advances in communications technology, in physical and electronic travel, give us the opportunity and obligation to understand, more than ever before, each other’s cultures.

Indeed, higher education must instill in us a set of values appropriate to our international community. We must cultivate character, character built on a moral and spiritual awareness of, and appreciation for, others — a capacity for love and respect for all people of all backgrounds. As Martin Luther King Jr. pointed out: “We must remember that intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education.” Humanitarian organizations and the international community should develop intelligence and character in young men and women of the global community for generations — with great efforts that will show extraordinary results in human relationship.

There is perhaps no better testimony to the success in that arena than the’ remarkable tradition of service to others, a tradition imbedded in the original mission to create a global peace and understandings, which have evidenced today in many ways. Still another challenge in the new global society is intellectual, a challenge introduced by the same technological advances that are facilitating our appreciation of other cultures.

 One aspect of this challenge — and it bears directly on our competitiveness as writers in the new global marketplace — is our need to produce more information, especially among the world less opportune, who are grossly underrepresented in scientific and technical fields in relation to their numbers in the general population.

As writers, we must do a better job of cultivating the interests and aptitudes of our readers in reality information and objectivity earlier in the pipeline, from kindergarten through secondary school, as well as at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Indeed, given the current global environment, every institution of higher education must better prepare its students to face a host of cultural, moral and ethical, intellectual and other challenges as we strive to adapt to the new realities of our world.

Historically, Africa has focused its preparation of African primarily on building leaders for community and national roles. But today, we must expand our mission to produce leaders also for the global metropolis that the world will be in the next century. How do we accomplish this? One of the first things we can do is to appreciate and harness the diversity within our own communities. Africa is often described as an ethnic microcosm of the world.

For that reason, campuses throughout African higher educational institutions should often reflect a substantial amount of diversity. We must draw on that diversity and reach beyond it to prepare young African for the vastly greater diversity of the global metropolis. Of course, a basic prerequisite for appreciating diversity is appreciating one’s self.

I have found that there are common characteristics of individuals who have satisfying educational experiences that prepare them to live and thrive in an increasingly diverse world. Among them are: 1) a high level of confidence in their own intellectual competence; and 2) a relaxed, natural sense of self-worth and self-identity as individuals and as members of a particular social or ethnic group. Such individuals are not apprehensive about who they are — where they come from or their ability to face new and unanticipated challenges.

Creating an educational experience that cultivates these characteristics in our world is something higher education has done exceptionally well for more than a century in the Western world. And we should extend and continue that tradition as a strong, undergraduate, liberal arts institution with a focus on producing outstanding leadership for Africa as well. But today, we must expand our mission to ensure that our people are prepared to assume leadership roles not only in a more diverse Africa /international community– but in the steadily shrinking world we share.

 We will prepare our children for the new global metropolis by drawing on the strengths of our past to cultivate within ourselves and our children an intellectual confidence and curiosity that will equip us for lifelong learning and growth. To do so, we will use –

 first and foremost — our curriculum, the courses we teach, the literature we read, and the range of interactions and experiences we facilitate between African children and Western faculty. We also have to prepare our children for the new global metropolis by enabling them to share knowledge, companionship, support and, yes, friendship — in the deepest sense of that word — with individuals of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds.

To do so, we should employ extra-curricular activities and study abroad experiences for students — not just in other countries, but also off-campus and in other communities — and through access to technologies that facilitate communication and distance-learning nationwide and worldwide. Above all, we will prepare our children by continuing to engage them in an intellectual, moral and ethical dialogue that underscores our recommitment to a culture of excellence, a dialogue that will take place not only in classrooms, but wherever we interact — in hallways, dormitories and dining rooms, on athletic fields, and in offices and chapels. By this way, indeed, our goal is nothing less than excellence in every aspect of our life — a level of excellence that will establish Africa as one of the best multi racial continent in the world. To do so, we should dedicate ourselves to “affirming excellence at Africans” — to a recommitment to excellence in scholarship, leadership and services.

I am as supremely confident that Africa can meet this challenge as I am keenly aware that leading this remarkable continent in this time of unparalleled opportunity is an enormous challenge for all the leaders of Africa and the greatest of their careers. It is a challenge to which I rise as a young educator, , and, now, as founding member and Executive Director of Timo productionz International.

Yet, obviously, it is a challenge I cannot meet alone. Therefore, let us join together as members of the African family and the international community, as friends and supporters of the continent, as representatives of higher educational community — with the zeal that has sustained this continent in the past — to embrace the challenge of propelling Africa into the future. I talked about these priorities in the context of some of the challenges we face as African up coming revolutionalists of higher aspiration for development: the cultural challenge to identify and embrace global opportunities,

even as we maintain our unique traditions; the moral and ethical educational challenge to cultivate in all the members of this continent character built on a moral and spiritual awareness and appreciation of others; the intellectual challenge to prepare our young generations for cutting-edge disciplines and careers; and the leadership challenge to produce good citizens who will become leaders for the global metropolis of the 21st century. This is our challenge. This is our goal.

This is our commitment. Lets joins together to light a candle in the Dark. As many used to term it before as the Dark continent. May the God of no race bless the continent of Africa, and the all international community. [Global village.]

More I observed while on my visit to war affected zone in Northern Uganda. East africa.

I Timo  have been reviewing the story and plight of the social needs of the African child and i have been  moved with above subject.  I have taken the story of Namuyanja Stella a house girl welas a senior six student paying her own fees its full of turning points and a call to ACT.

I believe that what we have is just enough to cause a smile in someone’s life. There communities that just long for a second hand wear, African children that are thirst for a 32 page book and a pencil, primary pupils that are putting on their Sunday wear as weekly uniform, i have been in a class where ‘’joyful'’ kids are sharing a 32page exercise book in PALLISA DISTRICT / northern Uganda.  // war affected zone.

. I  interracted with the kids from the IDPcamps and the their story melts the icing sugar– atleast this year lets get on going and its the least that you have that we need to go with its all about passion not plenty. After sharing and forwarding this message to your friends the we shall be ready to start. We are beginning from  Several orphanages like Mercy orphanage in kampala,

 Well this has nothing to do with people’s class difference as in rich or poor, at any level on which u are u can do something that can bring a positive change to someone or a society.

Example; in this case Timo focuses on our very social life. I really wonder why there are many children on streets, and over crowded orphanages within our societies. Have u ever taken time to really think of this?  Well, in this case it’s not God who will do a miracle to change all this,

, we are the very people to do something. As for me Timo from my own point of view I say that, lets make it our responsibility. Just help one child u really see needs the care of a normal as any other child. Thru doing this, we will hardly see our children on streets.

 This is just a very simple work, that doesn’t even call for extra donations from the World Bank or other international organizations. Think of u as an individual what can u really do best for this world that can make u really feel a real citizen of this world. 

 I had a chance of visiting several countries in Africa, Talk of the East, central and West African countries. That’s why I really come up with a solution coz all I saw in these places was just the same story of streets crowded with orphans and helpless children.

 It really beats my understanding when I see people really who are really doing fine financially and they cant even just get a little percentage tok of 1% to give a hand to these children, can u imagine that. There are people I know, really rich that if about $50.000. Today,   went missing from there account, they can hardly notice.

 People lets try do something to make this world a better place for each and every one. Despite of age differences, class differences ad responsibility.

    MY TRUE LIFE STORY.  

  1.  Born in 1987,  in one of the poorest part of Africa.  I grew up in a polygamous family, with my dad having more than 3 women. Life was abit tight by this time coz I could hardly c anything like a brighter future ahead.

 My mum left me with my grandmother while I was a kid, and all my life I was raised by grand mum in the village.  Really things were not really easy those days, talk of poverty and endless sicknesses.  I began schooling as any other child from the nursery section to primary and letter secondary school.  But one un forgotten moment was during my primary school I lost my grand dad, the one who was bringing almost most of the income for the family. This time left only with grand mum.  But as a survivor I was strong a midst all this. But one thing that has kept my life more straight and courageous is that my grand mum raised me up as a God fearing person right from childhood, and I was able to distinguish between what was good and bad for my life. Up to now this has helped me to set up my own life principals. 

My grand mum registered me with one child helping organization, known as compassion international, this contributed to my education a lot, but later I left this project due to some reasons.  But I was able to complete my secondary school in the year 2005. Since I too hard a very difficult life in the beginning I well know and understand what it is, that’s why I come up to do something for the children out there suffering. U too can do something to save lives of many children that are innocent but going thru very hard times just as I was.

 Through movies and the media, I will try my best to pass on the info- to the world, coz there are people who are just ignorant of what is happening in the world.

But it is now feared that this is having detrimental health effects, including: obesity, tooth decay, caffeine dependence and weakened bones.

A jobless man applied for the position of “office boy” at Microsoft.

The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

“You are employed.” He said.” Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.”

The man replied “But I don’t have a computer, neither an email.”

I’m sorry”, said the HR manager, “If you don’t have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.”

The man left with no hope at all. He didn’t know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital.

He repeated the Operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US .

He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, “I don’t have an email”. The broker answered curiously, “You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!”

The man thought for a while and replied, “Yes, I’d be an office boy at Microsoft!”

THE REAL MEANING OF PEACE…..

There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose  between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a  perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds.  All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect  picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged  and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.

But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest - in perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why?

“Because,” explained the king, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

3. Brenda and Steve took their six-year-old son to the doctor.

With some hesitation, they explained that although their little angel appeared to be in good health, they were concerned about his rather small penis.

After examining the child, the doctor confidently declared, “Just feed him pancakes. That should solve the problem.”

The next morning when the boy arrived at breakfast, there was a large stack of warm pancakes in the middle of the table.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG……

I don’t take vitamins or any supplement. I don’t trust how they manufacture it. I saw in Discovery Channel where some vitamin supplements caused the death of some Americans b-coz the Japanese co. who manufactured the raw materials did a reverse process.

I sleep 8 hours a day. If I didn’t have it at night I take a nap in the afternoon.

I don’t drink medicine, if my headache, toothache or stomach ache is bearable. I only go to the doctor to confirm that it’s not terminal. All the prescriptions go to the trash & I’ll just take a lot of fresh fruit juices & soups.

I seldom eat meat. I came from a poor family where chicken, pork & beef is only served on special occasions like birthdays & fiesta. So I’m used to eating vegetables & fish. I eat meat once a month.

I don’t eat junk foods. In between meals I take fresh fruits & tea.

I don’t use ajinomoto or any chemical additives when cooking. I use as much as possible fresh herbs. I also use SALADMASTER cookware only. They are made up of surgical stainless metal that is not harmful to our body.

I take a shower 2x a day, put some baby oil before & after shower then finish it w/ body lotion. I put facial mask once a week, do hair treatment once a month, have body scrub or akasuri every other month & aroma therapy once every 3 months.

I sleep in my pajamas, change the sheets, pillow case on a regular basis. I put hand & foot cream then wear cloth gloves & socks to seal the freshness of hands & feet.

I don’t wo rry for tomorrow. Coz tomorrow never comes. If I have  problems, I’ll formulate a solution then I’m done. I worry when the problem is right before my eyes in w/c I can function more effectively. What if that problem isn’t that big? You wasted lots of sleepless nights & the enjoyment for each passing day.

Lastly, live simply. Be content of what you have. Loved ones, health, job w/c is important than the things that you dreamt you cannot have. Don’t stress yourself as to when you’ll be like this or that. You are you, unique & happy. You may never know but the richest & most powerful people on earth are the loneliest coz they don’t know what is happiness anymore.

BY THE WAY WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ON YOUR BODY?  Wel this what Timo gat to say

My mother used to ask me what the most important part of the body is. Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer.

When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, ‘My ears, Mom.’

She said, ‘No…, many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon.’

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, ‘Mom, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes.’

She looked at me and told me, ‘Well, you’re learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind.’

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple of  more times and always her answer was, ‘No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child.’

Then one year, my grandfather died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to my Grandfather. She asked me, ‘Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear son?’ I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, ‘This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life.  I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson.’ She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, ‘My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder.’

I asked, ‘Is it because it holds up my head?’

She replied, ‘No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it.’

Then on I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is made for others and not for yourself. It is sympathetic to the pain of others.

The origin of this story is unknown, but it brings a blessing to everyone who passes it on. Good friends are like stars…You don’t always see them, but you always know they are there
